GLICO MAN, DOTONBURI, AND SHOPPING

In my other post, I wrote my itinerary for USJ in half day, please refer to that page if you want to see how my USJ trip managed to fit into this tight schedule. This is what we do next after USJ.
The first day was spent on Universal Studios Japan for half of the day. The rest of the night, I spent them walking around Dotonburi street. The night market here is super cute and interesting. The road is crowded and everyone’s busy posing with the Glico Man.
Let me put it short, the dinner we had was spontaneous. We were hungry and saw a restaurant offering portions in big portions. Like the ones we saw in a MUKBANG video. So we tried it and we finished it clean 🙂

Next we did stroll around the blocks, ate Takoyaki and shop in many of the tax-free shops. Interestingly, not all things in Donquijote is cheapest. Some products are found to be cheaper in other stores. Still, shopping in Donquijote is great when you buy big bunch of things and you might get discount vouchers which can be used in other donquijote stores. This voucher we get was useful, as we got additional 10% discount if we shop again in another Donquijote store. Bring your passport to redeem the VAT.

Shopping is always fun, but to ensure you buy things in the cheapest price, you might want to survey several stores first and note their prices. Later you will know the range of these prices.
Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and bags, you don’t want to go home early just because your leg hurts!

That’s all for night strolls,

See you on the next post!
Cheers,
